Shillong: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, Telangana, collaboratively organized the sixth phase of the 'Yuva Sangam' program under the central government's 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' (EBSB) initiative in Shillong.
Held from June 8 to June 12, this five-day event brought together 46 students and five faculty coordinators from Telangana, offering them an immersive experience of Meghalaya's rich cultural heritage, prominent institutions, developmental initiatives, and natural beauty.
Visits to Key Institutions
As part of the 'Prodyogiki' (Technology) and 'Pragati' (Development) components, the youth from Telangana visited several institutions of national importance. These included the North Eastern Space Applications Centre, Eastern Air Command, North Eastern Police Academy, Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles, NIT Meghalaya, North-Eastern Hill University, Sports Authority of India, and Lok Bhavan Meghalaya.
Cultural Exchange and People-to-People Connect
The program emphasized 'Paraspar Sampark' (People-to-People Connect) through interactions with community leaders, such as the Dorbar Shnong Mawpat, and engagement with students and faculty from various institutions. Cultural exchange programs involving participants from Meghalaya and Telangana were also conducted. These interactions fostered mutual understanding, respect, and lasting friendships among the youth, as elaborated in an IIM statement.
This initiative aligns with the broader vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat to promote national integration and cultural awareness among the country's youth.
