A man arrested for allegedly recording videos of women inside the trial room of a showroom in Chirawa town, Jhunjhunu district, was sent to judicial custody on Thursday after the completion of his police remand. The accused, identified as Shahrukh Shaikh, is the son of the showroom owner of Jamjam Collection.
Court Proceedings
Chirawa court prosecution officer Rakesh Sharma said the accused was produced before the court amid tight security arrangements. After the hearing, the court remanded him to judicial custody until June 23, 2026.
Incident and Outrage
The case came to light on June 6 when allegations surfaced that women were being secretly recorded inside the trial room of the showroom in Chirawa. The incident triggered widespread outrage in the town. Acting on the victim's complaint, police arrested Shahrukh.
Father's Reaction
Meanwhile, a video statement by the accused's father, Sher Mohammad Shaikh, drew attention. In the video, he publicly condemned his son's alleged actions. He further said the law should take its course and, if his son is found guilty, he should receive the strictest punishment.
