LUCKNOW: In a gruesome discovery, the body of a man was found on Monday morning with his hands and legs tied and his throat slit near the Aami river in Gorakhpur, according to news agency PTI. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting a thorough investigation by the police.

Discovery of the Body

Villagers noticed a sack lying near the riverbank close to the Semrahwa Baba temple in Bharsand around 7:00 am and immediately informed the police. Upon opening the sack, they found the body of a man, believed to be around 30 years old, with visible injury marks on his neck and ropes tied around his limbs. The gruesome nature of the discovery has raised concerns about safety in the area.

Police Investigation

Police suspect that the victim was killed at another location and later dumped near the riverbank in an attempt to hide his identity and mislead the investigation. A police team, along with forensic experts, reached the spot and began collecting evidence. Investigators have also started scanning missing person reports from nearby villages and police stations to establish the identity of the deceased. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather more clues.

SP (North) Gyanendra Nath Prasad said further action would be taken based on the post-mortem report and investigation findings. He added that police are probing all possible angles in the case, including personal enmity, robbery, or any other motive that might have led to the brutal murder. The police have assured the public that they are working diligently to solve the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.
