Man Kidnaps Father-in-Law to Force Wife Back Home in MP

A marital dispute that began three years after a wedding escalated into a dramatic kidnapping case in Dhar district's Nalcha area. A man, along with his father and aides, allegedly abducted his own father-in-law to force his wife to return to her matrimonial home. The accused also assaulted family members with sticks and stones, fracturing an elderly woman's hand.

Incident Details

Dhar Superintendent of Police Sachin Sharma confirmed that the incident took place in Sodpur village under Nalcha police station limits. Complainant Devkibai told police that her daughter Ravina was married to Dilip, a resident of Khairpura, around three years ago. Due to alleged harassment at her in-laws' house, Ravina had been staying at her parental home in Sodpur for some time.

Kidnapping and Assault

Police said the accused were upset over Ravina refusing to return. On Tuesday, Dilip, along with his father Rugnath and other associates, allegedly arrived in an SUV and assaulted Ravina's father Mahadev Katare. They then forcibly dragged him into the vehicle and fled from the village. During the assault, an elderly woman sustained a fractured hand.
