Man Killed, Brother Injured in Knife Attack by Relative in Mau Village

In a shocking incident of family violence, a 42-year-old man was killed and his elder brother suffered grave injuries when they were attacked by a relative with a knife in Khantiya village under the Ghosi police station of Mau district on Friday night. The victim, identified as Rambhavan Yadav, succumbed to his injuries while being transported to a higher medical facility, while his brother Vijaybhan Yadav, aged 50, was discharged after receiving first aid.

Police Investigation and FIR Registration

Mau ASP Aoop Kumar stated that, based on a complaint filed by the wife of the deceased, an FIR has been registered against four individuals, including the primary accused Ramjeet Yadav and his father Vijendra Yadav. Police teams have conducted extensive raids at all possible hideouts of the accused, with authorities confident that arrests will be made soon. The body of Rambhavan Yadav has been sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

Details of the Violent Altercation

According to initial police findings, the tragic incident unfolded when Rambhavan and Vijaybhan were having dinner. Their cousin, Vijendra Yadav, arrived at the scene in an inebriated state and began hurling abuses at them. When Vijaybhan asked him to stop and return home, Vijendra called his son, Ramjeet Yadav, to the location. The situation escalated rapidly as the father-son duo launched a violent assault on Vijaybhan.

In a desperate attempt to save his brother, Rambhavan intervened, but Ramjeet responded by stabbing him in the chest and beating him on the head with a stick before fleeing the scene. Both injured brothers were rushed to the district hospital, where doctors noted a sharp deterioration in Rambhavan's condition and referred him to a higher medical centre. Tragically, he died en route, while Vijaybhan was treated and discharged after initial medical attention.

This incident highlights the grave consequences of domestic disputes escalating into violence, with law enforcement now intensifying efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
