Man Killed in Giridih Attack Over Personal Enmity

Bokaro: A 24-year-old man was allegedly killed near Chadra bridge at Azad Nagar village in Giridih district on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, police said. The deceased was identified as Taufiq Ansari, police added.

Incident Details

Officer in-charge of the Pachamba police station, Rajiv Kumar, said, “Family members of the deceased told us that Taufiq left home late Monday night after receiving a phone call from an acquaintance, who asked him to meet him near the bridge. Accompanied by a few friends, Taufiq reached the spot. A confrontation allegedly broke out between them, following which a group of men attacked Taufiq with sharp-edged weapons. While his companions managed to escape, Taufiq reportedly fell and was repeatedly assaulted. Relatives found him lying in a pool of blood around 1 am.”

Investigation Underway

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the incident was a result of personal enmity. Taufiq named his alleged attackers before succumbing to his injuries. His relatives recorded his statement on a mobile phone. A raid has been launched to arrest the assailants. All angles are being examined. Further investigation is underway,” OC Kumar added.

The police are currently examining all evidence and have assured that the accused will be brought to justice soon. The family of the deceased has demanded strict action against the culprits.
