A tragic hit-and-run incident on a Lucknow road has claimed the life of a man, with the driver responsible still at large. The fatal accident occurred on Deva Road within the limits of the Chinhat police station on Saturday morning.

Victim Identified, Son Arrives at Grisly Scene

Police have identified the deceased as Mithilesh Yadav, a resident of Rahmanpur in Matiyari. According to officials, the accident took place on Saturday. A police team, upon receiving information, rushed to the location opposite a hospital where they found Yadav's body lying on the road.

The impact was severe. The victim sustained critical injuries to his arms, legs, and torso. The force of the collision was so intense that it completely disfigured his face, leading investigators to believe the vehicle was moving at high speed.

Eyewitness Account of the Fatal Collision

Initial accounts from people who saw the incident revealed that Mithilesh Yadav was walking towards Dhawa for some work. An unidentified vehicle, moving with great force, struck him. The man was dragged under the wheels and died instantly on the spot.

After some time, the victim's son, Sachin, who works for a private company near Naubasta, arrived at the accident site. He identified the body as that of his father, Mithilesh Yadav.

Police Investigation and Evidence Collection

SHO Dinesh Chandra Mishra stated that the police conducted an on-site panchnama (inquest report). The body was subsequently sent to King George's Medical University (KGMU) for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The driver, however, did not stop. The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police officials confirmed they are actively working to solve the case. Their efforts currently focus on collecting crucial evidence, including CCTV footage from the surrounding area, to identify the vehicle involved and trace the absconding driver.
