In a tragic incident in Mahoba's Sijari village under Srinagar police station, a man killed his father by striking him with a brick when the father intervened to stop him from beating his wife on Sunday evening. The accused, identified as Mahesh Ahirwar, fled the scene after the murder, leading to a police search.
Incident Details
Harihar Ahirwar (58), a farmer, lived with his wife Kishori and three sons: Mahesh, Arvind, and Dashrath. Mahesh, who worked as a kiln laborer in Delhi, had returned to the village a few days ago. On Sunday evening, Mahesh began quarreling with his father. The argument escalated, and Mahesh started abusing and beating his wife, Ram Kumari. When Harihar tried to intervene, Mahesh picked up a brick and struck him on the head, causing fatal injuries.
Family Reaction and Police Response
After the attack, family members raised an alarm, and Mahesh fled. Police arrived, took the body into custody, and collected evidence with the help of a forensic team. The deceased's wife, Kishori, stated that Mahesh had been consuming alcohol for days and frequently quarreled with his father. On Sunday, during the assault on his wife, he killed his father for intervening.
Srinagar police station in-charge Jay Chandra Singh confirmed that the deceased's other son, Arvind, filed a written complaint against Mahesh. An FIR has been registered, and a search operation is underway to arrest the accused.
