Man Allegedly Kills Uncle in Tonk District Over Second Wife Dispute
A shocking incident of family violence unfolded in Rajasthan's Tonk district on Saturday, where a man allegedly shot his uncle dead following a heated argument over his intention to take a second wife. The tragic event occurred in Awada village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Panchewar police station.
Details of the Fatal Altercation
According to Tonk Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Meena, the accused, identified as Suresh Bawaria (25), is a married man with four children. Despite his existing marital commitments, Bawaria brought his lover to the family home with the explicit intention of making her his second wife. This decision sparked immediate disapproval from his uncle, Ramesh Bawaria (35), who strongly objected to the arrangement.
The disagreement quickly escalated into a verbal confrontation between the nephew and uncle. During the heated exchange, Suresh Bawaria allegedly retrieved a licensed firearm that the family kept for protecting their crops from Nilgai (blue bulls) and fired at his uncle. After the shooting, the accused fled the scene, leaving his critically injured uncle behind.
Police Response and Investigation
Family members rushed Ramesh Bawaria to Malpura hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Based on a formal complaint filed by the deceased's family, police have registered a case and initiated a comprehensive manhunt for the accused. Multiple police teams have been deployed to trace Suresh Bawaria, who remains at large.
Investigators are also examining whether others were involved in the incident or had prior knowledge of the escalating family conflict. The body was handed over to the family after completion of the post-mortem examination, allowing them to proceed with final rites.
SP Rajesh Kumar Meena confirmed that the firearm used in the incident was legally licensed, primarily utilized by the family for agricultural protection purposes. He emphasized that while the immediate trigger appears to be the dispute over the second wife, the exact motive and full circumstances surrounding the murder will only become clear once the accused is apprehended and questioned thoroughly.
