A 37-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his nephew following an argument during a religious function at a residence in Bantwal taluk on Sunday night. The incident occurred in Pilathabettu, Bantwal, where a family gathering was underway.
Details of the Incident
According to a complaint filed by Shekhar, 43, a resident of Pilathabettu, a religious ceremony was being held at his home, attended by several family members. During the event, Shekhar's brother, Madhusudan, 37, confronted his nephew Rahul, the son of another brother, Keshava, questioning him about work-related issues. The confrontation reportedly angered Rahul, who left the venue abruptly.
After the function concluded, it was discovered that Rahul had allegedly stabbed Madhusudan in the neck with a broken beer bottle. Madhusudan was immediately rushed to the government hospital in Bantwal, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Legal Action and Investigation
Based on Shekhar's complaint, the Punjalkatte police have registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Rahul has been taken into custody for questioning. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the fatal attack.
