A 38-year-old man was allegedly murdered with a sharp weapon in the Ambegaon area of Katraj on Sunday night over suspicion of an illicit relationship. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kshirsagar, a resident of Ambegaon and an employee of the Pune Municipal Corporation's water supply department. A murder case has been registered against two brothers at the Ambegaon police station, and both have been arrested.
Details of the Incident
According to senior inspector Sharad Zine of Ambegaon Pathar police, the two brothers, aged 22 and 20, were arrested after the incident. Investigations revealed that Kshirsagar was having an illicit relationship with a woman who is a relative of the arrested brothers. The brothers had previously opposed this relationship and had threatened Kshirsagar, asking him to stay away from the woman.
Sequence of Events
On Sunday night, after having dinner, Kshirsagar came out of his home and was standing outside. At that moment, the two brothers arrived on a two-wheeler and attacked him with a sharp weapon. Kshirsagar succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The police registered a case and arrested the accused shortly after the incident.
The police are investigating the matter further, and the accused have been remanded to police custody. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the dangers of personal disputes escalating into violence.
