The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at the victim, identified as 35-year-old Gurpreet Singh, a resident of a nearby village.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers fired multiple shots at Gurpreet Singh before fleeing the scene. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Senior police officials, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Phagwara, reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
