A man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg after a group of armed individuals allegedly forced their way into an office in Sector 10, Gurgaon, and opened fire during a confrontation stemming from a financial dispute over Rs 1.6 lakh. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 10:30 pm.
Incident Details
The victim, identified as Sikandar, filed a complaint stating that his friend Ashish had a monetary disagreement with Arjun Sahu, an LLB student. Earlier that evening, around 8:30 pm, Arjun allegedly threatened Ashish at his office over the matter.
Later, while Sikandar and others were present at Ashish’s office in Sector 10, a group of men arrived and demanded that Ashish be brought outside. When those present attempted to calm the situation and suggested resolving the issue through discussion, the visitors allegedly began abusing them.
Attack and Aftermath
During the altercation, one of the accused allegedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire, with a bullet striking Sikandar in the leg. The attackers then fled the scene, leaving two vehicles behind.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment. Based on his complaint, a case was registered at Sector 10 police station under Sections 191(2) (rioting), 191(3) (rioting while armed with a deadly weapon), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 109 (attempt to murder), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant sections of the Arms Act.
Arrests Made
Police arrested Vikas, 35, a resident of Samalkha in Panipat, who allegedly fired the shot, and Arjun Sahu, 20, a resident of Bhimgarh Kheri in Gurgaon. Authorities confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the remaining accused. Further investigation is in progress.
