The injured man has been identified as Sameer, a resident of Noor-e-Ilahi in Ghonda. He sustained a gunshot injury and was immediately rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for urgent medical attention. According to doctors, his condition is currently stable, as confirmed by police officials.
Police reported that the incident occurred around 3 a.m. A PCR call was received at the Preet Vihar police station from the hospital, where Sameer had been admitted following the shooting. Acting promptly on this information, police teams were dispatched to both the hospital and the crime scene to initiate a thorough inquiry.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Shooting
During the preliminary investigation, police uncovered that the altercation began inside the club. The caller, Naveem, aged 25, had visited the club earlier in the night with his friends. Sameer and another friend, Arham, joined them later. An argument reportedly erupted between Arham and another group of men inside the club, which quickly escalated into a heated dispute.
As tensions mounted, the involved individuals moved outside towards the service road near the club premises. It was at this point that an unidentified person, who was already present outside the club along with his associates, allegedly fired a gunshot. The bullet struck Sameer on his right leg below the knee. The shooter and his associates fled the spot immediately after the incident.
Sameer informed the police that he was not aware of the shooter's identity, complicating the investigation efforts.
