Mandya: Tension prevailed in villages around Bheemahalli in Malavalli taluk after a 34-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death following a minor dispute late Tuesday night.
Incident Details
The deceased, Mahesh, son of Mariyaiah and Putta Chennamma, was a resident of Bheemahalli. He was having dinner at his house when a few acquaintances called him outside. According to police sources, an argument over a trivial issue escalated into a violent attack using a sharp weapon.
Fatal Outcome
Mahesh was rushed to a hospital on a motorcycle but died on the way after the vehicle reportedly ran out of fuel between Bheemahalli and Hittanahalli Koppalu. He was later declared dead at the hospital.
Arrest and Investigation
Police said Rajesh, one of the accused, admitted Mahesh to the hospital and was subsequently taken into custody. Mahesh is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Police suspect the involvement of three to four persons in the crime and have launched a search to trace the remaining accused. Kirugavalu police have registered a case and are investigating the motive.
