Shop Owner Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Mandya Village

A 44-year-old man was discovered dead under highly suspicious circumstances at his ancestral home in Akkammanakoppalu village of Malavalli taluk, Mandya district, on Monday morning. The incident has sparked serious allegations of murder from the victim's family, who are demanding a comprehensive investigation into what they believe was a deliberate killing.

Victim Identified as Local Shop Owner

The deceased has been identified as Manju, a 44-year-old shop owner from Bannur who lived with his wife and children. According to police reports, Manju had traveled to Hullekala village on Sunday to attend a relative's house-warming ceremony. When he failed to return home that night, his wife became increasingly concerned and alerted other family members about his disappearance.

Discovery of the Body with Severe Injuries

The following morning, Manju's body was found lying on the veranda of his ancestral house in Akkammanakoppalu village. Preliminary examination revealed severe injuries to his face, with visible marks around the neck suggesting possible strangulation. Adding to the suspicious nature of the death, investigators discovered Manju's shirt and trousers discarded some distance away from the body, indicating either a violent struggle or an attempt to destroy evidence.

Family Alleges Murder and Body Dumping

Family members have strongly alleged that Manju was murdered at another location and that his body was later transported and dumped on the porch to mislead investigators. They have categorically ruled out any possibility of accidental death and are demanding a thorough, transparent probe into the incident. Based on a formal complaint filed by the victim's brother, the local police have registered a case of suspicious death and launched a full-scale investigation.

Police Investigation Underway

Malavalli Rural police confirmed they are investigating the case from multiple angles, including examining possible enmity or personal disputes that might have led to the death. Police officials have begun questioning relatives, neighbors, and locals to piece together the events leading up to Manju's death and to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine whether this was a case of murder, and if so, to identify potential suspects and motives.
