Mathura Family Tragedy: Five Members Found Dead in Apparent Suicide Pact
In a deeply distressing incident, five members of a single family were discovered deceased inside their residence in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district on Tuesday. Preliminary investigations strongly indicate that the deaths resulted from a collective suicide.
Discovery of the Incident
The tragic event unfolded in Khapparpur village, located within the jurisdiction of the Mahavan police station. The situation came to light when the brother of the deceased, also named Manish, grew concerned after noticing no activity from the family home throughout the morning. His apprehension heightened when the children failed to emerge to play as usual.
Taking immediate action, he alerted other villagers and together they approached the house. When there was no response to their calls, they scaled the boundary wall to gain entry. Forcing open the door of a locked room, they were met with the harrowing sight of five lifeless bodies.
Identification and Disturbing Evidence
The deceased have been officially identified as 35-year-old farmer Manish, his wife Seema, their two daughters named Honey and Priyanshi, and their two-year-old son Pankaj. The family had resided together in this home for several years.
Authorities discovered chilling evidence pointing toward a premeditated act. A message was found inscribed on the wall of the room, written in a manner suggesting it was a suicide note. The text read, "I, Manish and Seema are committing suicide of my own will. Police should not bother anyone."
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar, who personally visited the scene, provided further details. "When police reached the spot and conducted the investigation, we confirmed the deaths of Manish, his wife, and their three children. In addition to the written note on the wall, a video recording was also recovered from the premises. In this video, the individuals are heard discussing suicide," stated SSP Kumar.
Family Background and Reactions
Manish and Seema had been married for approximately eight years. While Manish had two brothers who live separately in different houses within the same village, the nuclear family lived independently. Manish worked as a farmer, tending to land in the Mathura region.
The news has sent shockwaves through the family and community. Vijendra, the father of the deceased Seema, rushed to the village upon hearing the tragic news. "I met my daughter and son-in-law just a day before this happened. We spoke normally. I never imagined, not even in my worst dreams, that something like this could occur. There were no visible problems or issues that I was aware of," he expressed in a state of profound grief and disbelief.
Ongoing Police Procedures
The police were promptly informed by the brother and villagers after the discovery. All five bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause and time of death, which is a standard procedure in such cases.
SSP Kumar outlined the immediate steps being taken. "The information was provided by the deceased's brother, who explained that after the children did not come out, he and others entered the property. They broke into the room and found the bodies. Based on this, we were informed. The bodies are undergoing post-mortem, and a comprehensive investigation is currently in progress to understand all circumstances surrounding this tragic event," he concluded.
The incident has left the local community in Khapparpur village in a state of mourning and shock, as authorities continue their inquiry into this heartbreaking family tragedy.
