Medical Student Killed in Gorakhpur Car Crash; Driver Arrested
A tragic accident in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, has resulted in the death of a 22-year-old medical student and injuries to three others. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when a speeding Fortuner collided with a group of bikers on the Mohaddipur Overbridge in the Shahpur police station area.

According to police reports, the crash took place around 9 pm, with the impact being so severe that Akash Pandey, a third-year MBBS student at Baba Radhav Das Medical College, died instantly at the scene. Two of the bikers sustained serious injuries, while another suffered minor wounds. The driver of the Fortuner, identified as Golden Sahni, has been arrested, and the vehicle has been seized by authorities.
Police Response and Legal Action
SP City Gorakhpur Abhinav Tyagi confirmed that a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered in connection with the incident. He emphasized that strict action will be taken against the accused. The police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the crash, including potential factors like speeding and negligence.
