Meerut Shocker: Cops Caught on CCTV Dumping Body at Shop Doorstep
Meerut Cops Suspended After CCTV Shows Body Dumping

Residents and shopkeepers of Meerut's Lohiyanagar area were jolted by a macabre discovery on Friday morning. An unidentified young man's body was found lying at the doorstep of a shop, an incident that took an even more shocking turn after a review of security camera footage.

CCTV Footage Reveals Chilling Act

The footage, which later circulated widely on social media, showed a few police personnel, under the cover of darkness, quietly depositing the corpse in front of a stationery shop. The clip, recorded around 1:40 am, triggered immediate and widespread outrage among netizens, with many accusing the local police of apathy towards common citizens.

The shopkeeper, Ronit Bainsla, recounted the horrifying moment of discovery. "I saw the body right at the shutter of my stationery shop early in the morning," Bainsla told reporters. "Other shopkeepers also assembled and we informed the police. Curious about what could have happened, some of us checked the CCTV footage and there it was revealed that men in police uniform had dumped the body there."

Swift Action and Internal Inquiry

Responding to the public fury, Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Vipin Tada took swift disciplinary action. The L-Block outpost in-charge, Jitendra Kumar, and constable Rajesh were suspended, while the services of home guard Rohtash were terminated.

SSP Tada stated, "I have also instituted an internal inquiry under SP City Ayush Vikram Singh. The youth is still to be identified." The preliminary allegations suggest that cops from the Nauchanadi jurisdiction found the unidentified body in the L-Block outpost area on Thursday night.

Alleged Motive: Avoiding Procedural Hassles

It is alleged that to avoid the lengthy procedures and paperwork associated with an unclaimed body, including postmortem, the personnel decided to "shift" the corpse to another police jurisdiction. They allegedly transported it and dumped it outside Bainsla's shop in Kazipur, which falls under the Lohiyanagar police station limits.

This incident has raised serious questions about police conduct and accountability in the region. The internal inquiry led by SP City Ayush Vikram Singh will now determine the full sequence of events and identify any other individuals involved in this callous act.
