A 13-year-old minor boy was detained in the state capital on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl, police said. Both are residents of the same building in Patna. The crime occurred when both were alone at their homes, according to authorities.
Incident Details
Police confirmed that both individuals are minors and live as tenants in the same building. According to the girl's complaint, her family members had gone out for work on Tuesday, and the boy's family was also not home at the time of the incident. The boy allegedly came down the stairs and knocked on the girl's door. Believing it to be a family member, the girl opened the door. The boy then entered the room and shut the door from inside.
The girl alleged that the boy raped her and then fled. She informed her family after they returned from work. The family took her to a police station and filed a written complaint. A medical examination of the girl was conducted, and she has recorded her statement before the court.
Police Investigation
SDPO-II (law & order) Divyanjali Jaiswal said, “The accused has been detained. Police received information about the incident at 11am on Tuesday. A team reached the spot, and an FSL team carried out an examination. All evidence from the spot has been collected and seized. Further investigation is underway.”
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case. The minor boy remains in custody as legal proceedings move forward.
