A 17-year-old boy was stabbed by two assailants on a motorcycle near Pattanagere in Bengaluru on Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 7:30 pm when the victim, identified as Rakesh, a resident of Pattanagere, was returning home from tuition classes.
Attack Details
According to the police, Rakesh was riding his bike when two men on another motorcycle intercepted him near the Pattanagere flyover. The assailants, both wearing helmets, allegedly had a brief argument with the teenager before one of them stabbed him in the abdomen. They then fled the scene, leaving the victim bleeding on the road.
Victim's Condition
Passersby rushed Rakesh to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have stated that his condition is stable but he remains under observation. The knife used in the attack has not been recovered.
Police Investigation
The Pattanagere police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including attempt to murder. A manhunt is underway to trace the suspects. Preliminary investigations suggest that the attack may be linked to a previous personal enmity, as Rakesh had reportedly been involved in a minor altercation with some local youths a few days ago.
Senior police officials have visited the crime scene and assured swift action. They have also appealed to the public for any information regarding the assailants. The victim's family has demanded strict punishment for the culprits.
