Bomb Threat Hoax at Mira Road School Sparks Panic, Multi-Agency Response
Mira Road School Bomb Threat a Hoax, Cyber Probe On

A school in Mira Road was thrown into chaos on Monday morning after receiving a threatening email claiming a bomb would explode on the premises. The alarming message prompted an immediate evacuation and a large-scale response from multiple security agencies, which later confirmed the threat to be a hoax.

Swift Action and Evacuation Protocol

The authorities at the Singapore International School in Mira Bhayandar acted promptly upon receiving the email threat. They immediately alerted the Kashimira police station, setting in motion a standard security protocol. Following established safety procedures, the school was swiftly evacuated to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Kamble from the Kashimira police station detailed the response. "Our team rushed to the spot and started a search. Later on, the bomb detection and disposal squad also joined us, along with the dog squad and other agencies," he stated. The search operation was thorough, involving around three rounds of sweeps, including a manual search, before concluding around 3 PM.

Multi-Agency Search and Public Curiosity

As the search unfolded, the presence of various agencies at the school attracted a crowd of onlookers. Curious residents gathered outside the premises, watching the flurry of activity as officials worked to secure the area. Despite the tense atmosphere, the coordinated efforts confirmed that there was no explosive device, and the threat was deemed non-credible by late afternoon.

The police have officially registered an offence under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). To trace the source of the malicious communication, the MBVV's cyber crime team has been enlisted to investigate the email. Inspector Kamble confirmed that the cyber team is actively looking into the digital trail of the threatening message received by the school.

Ongoing Investigation and Legal Ramifications

The incident highlights the serious consequences of such hoax threats, which drain police resources and cause widespread panic. The registration of a formal case indicates that authorities are pursuing legal action against the perpetrator. The focus of the investigation has now shifted to the cyber domain, where experts will attempt to identify the individual or group responsible for sending the threatening email.

This event serves as a reminder for institutions to maintain robust emergency protocols and for the public to remain vigilant yet calm during such security scares. The Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar (MBVV) police are determined to use their cyber capabilities to ensure those behind such disruptive acts are held accountable.
