Two weeks after the horrific incident, the primary suspect in the case remains at large. Property owner Ashok Nudurumli, identified as the main accused, has not been arrested despite massive police searches.

During Sunday's gram sabha meeting, angry villagers voiced their frustration and demanded Nudurumli's immediate arrest. The community expressed growing concerns about unchecked land sales and illegal hill cutting activities in the area.

Three Arrests Made as Investigation Continues

Following pressure from local residents, police have registered a murder case and taken three individuals into custody. The arrested suspects include:

  • Lokhesh Swami, 43 - site supervisor
  • Rohit Kumar Prajapati, 23 - earth mover operator
  • Vijay Susumman, 36 - worker

According to authorities, the victim had repeatedly approached various government departments to report illegal construction activities on the property before his tragic death.

Panchayat Takes Action on Illegal Construction

Sarpanch Vilas Morje confirmed that the panchayat would remove the illegally constructed road from the disputed land. "It's the land dispute that led to the killing of Khot," Morje stated, highlighting the root cause of the conflict.

The local administration has pledged to take stronger action against illegal construction activities amid rising community concerns about property disputes and land grabbing in the region.

Police continue their manhunt for Ashok Nudurumli while the investigation into Umakant Khot's murder progresses, with authorities vowing to bring all responsible parties to justice.
