Mumbai Arrests Two in Dockyard Road Firing Within 12 Hours

Mumbai: The city crime branch arrested two men from Mahim within 12 hours after they allegedly fired at a 38-year-old man, Sameer Khan, near Dockyard Road railway station on Tuesday evening. Police said they are now looking for the main accused, identified as Saif Khan alias Saif Choti, who had allegedly roped in the arrested duo — Zeeshan Khan and Sadiqu Shaikh — to target Sameer over a monetary dispute.

Details of the Incident

On Tuesday, around 6:15 pm, two bike-borne men shot at Sameer when he was entering a restaurant near Dockyard Road station on P D’Mello Road and fled. Sameer sustained a bullet injury in his leg and was rushed to JJ Hospital. He is out of danger.

Background of the Victim

Sameer is the son of Asif Khan alias Asif Dadhi, a former alleged member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang, who had survived a shooting attack in 2010. “Two years ago, Sameer and Saif had taken a contract for a building demolition. Later, the duo had a monetary dispute. This was the main reason for the firing incident,” said a crime branch officer.
