Mumbai: Delivery Boy Stabbed Over Perceived Laughter
In a shocking incident in Mumbai, a 38-year-old man named Mohammed Mansuri was arrested by Agripada police on Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old food delivery boy multiple times. The accused, a resident of Govandi, claimed that the victim and his cousin were laughing at him, which led to the violent attack.
Details of the Incident
The victim, Afzal Khan, a resident of Mazgaon, was on his delivery rounds when he stopped near a roadside stall to meet his cousin near Baby Garden on Meghraj Sethi Marg in Agripada around 7 pm. While Khan was chatting and laughing with his cousin, Mansuri, who was passing by, confronted the teenager, accusing him of mockery. Without any provocation, Mansuri pulled out a knife from his bag and stabbed Khan repeatedly on his hands and stomach, as per the police complaint.
Arrest and Investigation
Bystanders at the scene quickly overpowered Mansuri with the help of a nearby vendor and handed him over to the police. Khan, who sustained multiple stab injuries, was rushed to Nair Hospital at Mumbai Central, where he is currently undergoing treatment. The police conducted a panchnama and seized the knife. A team of police along with forensic experts inspected the crime scene.
Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Nale stated, "The accused, who earlier worked as a delivery boy for a food service aggregator, has been remanded in police custody till May 2."
