Mumbai Woman Files Complaint Against Husband for Child Abuse

A 27-year-old woman from Mumbai has filed a formal police complaint against her husband for allegedly assaulting their six-year-old son in a shocking case of child abuse. The Sahar police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the Juvenile Justice Act against the accused, who operates a fabrication business.

Two Years of Domestic Strife Preceded Incident

According to the victim's mother, marital conflicts over domestic issues began approximately two years ago. She reported that her husband regularly subjected her to verbal abuse and physical violence during this period. The situation escalated in July this year when another argument erupted while she was assisting their son with his studies.

Following this altercation, the husband took their son to Pune for three days without the mother's consent. The domestic situation worsened on July 28 when the woman was forcibly ejected from their home and prevented from taking her child with her. She subsequently sought refuge at her mother's residence.

Shocking Video Call Reveals Abuse

The case took a disturbing turn on November 25 when the woman received a video call from her husband. During this call, the man allegedly stripped their son and displayed visible assault marks on the child's body before abruptly ending the communication.

Concerned for her son's safety, the mother visited their Sahar village residence on November 27, only to find the house locked. She eventually located her son in the neighborhood, where the child disclosed horrifying details of the abuse he had endured.

The six-year-old boy revealed that his father had been beating him with a wire and a dog's belt as punishment for refusing to eat his food. The child's testimony provided crucial evidence supporting the abuse allegations.

Legal Action Under Juvenile Justice Act

Following these revelations, the woman immediately took her son to the Sahar police station and filed a formal complaint. Police authorities have taken swift action by registering the case under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act, which contains specific provisions for protecting children from cruelty and abuse.

The accused remains at large as investigations continue. This case highlights the serious issue of domestic violence and child abuse within households, with authorities emphasizing the importance of reporting such incidents promptly to prevent further harm to vulnerable children.
