Mysuru Man Arrested for Killing Wife Over Suspicion

A tragic incident unfolded in Mysuru where a husband, driven by suspicion and a heated argument, allegedly attacked his wife with a sickle, resulting in her instantaneous death. The incident occurred during the pre-dawn hours on Thursday at the couple's residence in Old Kesare. The NR police have arrested the accused, identified as Mahesh, on charges of murdering his wife, Pushpa, aged 24.

Background of the Couple

According to a senior police officer, the couple had been married for about a year and a half. Their relationship had been strained since the beginning, with frequent quarrels and distrust. Mahesh worked at a local bar, while Pushpa was employed at a beauty parlour. Mahesh often doubted his wife's fidelity, particularly when she returned home late from work, leading to constant arguments.

The Fatal Argument

The final confrontation began late on Wednesday night over a trivial matter. The couple was having dinner when an argument erupted over the sambar (a lentil-based dish). The dispute escalated and continued until around 11 pm, after which they went to sleep. However, early on Thursday morning, around 4 am, Pushpa resumed the argument. In a fit of rage, Mahesh allegedly grabbed a sickle and attacked her, inflicting fatal injuries. Police confirmed that Pushpa died on the spot.
