Mysuru Police Conducts Intensive Area Domination Drive to Curb Illegal Activities

In a significant move to bolster public safety and enforce regulatory compliance, the Mysuru City Police launched a comprehensive area domination drive across the city on Saturday evening. The special operation, which commenced at 6 PM and concluded at 10:30 PM, was spearheaded by Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, who emphasized the importance of strict adherence to stipulated timings and regulations.

Strategic Deployment and Public Interaction

The drive was strategically conducted in key areas under the jurisdictions of the Udayagiri, Narasimharaja, and Mandi police stations. A coordinated effort involving city police personnel and commando forces was undertaken to survey public roads and vulnerable locations. During the operation, officers actively interacted with citizens to raise awareness about crime prevention and fraud, fostering a collaborative approach to community safety.

Enforcement Actions and Compliance Checks

As part of the initiative, police officials meticulously checked and verified the credentials of approximately 33 individuals. The operation resulted in the registration of 166 petty cases, highlighting the police's commitment to addressing minor infractions that contribute to urban disorder. Notably, 108 cases were booked under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), underscoring a focused effort to curb tobacco-related violations in public spaces.

Ensuring Business Compliance and Public Appeal

In addition to individual checks, the police ensured that all shops situated along major roads adhered to the mandated closing time of 10:30 PM. Strict action was taken against establishments found violating this regulation, reinforcing the message of compliance. Commissioner Seema Latkar appealed to the public for their cooperation, stating that collective efforts are essential to control illegal activities and maintain law, order, and peace in Mysuru.

This proactive measure by the Mysuru Police aims to create a safer urban environment through vigilant patrolling and community engagement.
