Nabarangpur Police Solve Murder of 38-Year-Old Man

Koraput: Nabarangpur police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the murder case of 38-year-old Jagannath Gouda of Biriguda village, whose body was found on the outskirts of the village on Sunday morning.

Investigation and Arrests

SP (Nabarangpur) Sandeep Sampad Madkar said a special team led by SDPO Satyajit Kandankel and Kodinga IIC Dipak Jena conducted the investigation and identified the accused within 24 hours of registration of FIR. The arrested accused were identified as Padman Gouda (25) and Ganesh Gouda (19).

“During interrogation, both the accused have confessed to their involvement in the crime,” the SP said.

Details of the Incident

According to the police, the incident took place on the intervening night when the accused allegedly assaulted Jagannath inside Padman’s house. The victim managed to flee, but the accused caught him and strangulated him.

The accused had tried to destroy evidence and divert the investigation by projecting the incident as a suicide, but the police team uncovered the truth. The police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
