In a shocking incident of public violence, the Hudkeshwar Police in Nagpur have arrested eight accused individuals involved in a brutal clash at a local bar on Thursday night. The confrontation erupted when bar management refused to serve alcohol to a group of patrons as the establishment was preparing to close for the evening.

Violent Outburst Following Service Refusal

The incident unfolded when Tushar Wankhede, the 38-year-old manager of the bar, informed a group of customers that alcohol service had concluded due to closing time. This refusal reportedly triggered an immediate and aggressive response from the group, who became enraged by the denial of service.

According to police reports, the accused individuals, accompanied by approximately ten other associates, launched a destructive rampage inside the premises. The violent outburst resulted in the smashing of nearly twenty liquor bottles and the breaking of multiple glass windows throughout the establishment.

Extensive Damage and Physical Assault

The destructive spree caused significant property damage estimated at approximately Rs 60,000. However, the violence escalated beyond property destruction when the group turned their aggression toward the bar staff.

The assailants brutally assaulted manager Tushar Wankhede and other staff members using glass bottles as weapons. Wankhede sustained serious injuries to his head during the attack and required medical attention following the incident.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings

Following the violent episode, Hudkeshwar Police swiftly identified and apprehended eight individuals connected to the assault and property destruction. The arrested accused have been identified as:

  • Akshay Meshram, 22
  • Sumeet Waghmare, 22
  • Rishabh Sonawane, 23
  • Yash Dahikar, 22
  • Sudhanshu Tembhare, 24
  • One minor (name withheld due to legal restrictions)

Authorities have registered a formal case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including serious charges such as attempt to murder. The investigation is currently progressing under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Niketan Kadam and other senior police officials.

Police officials confirmed that further investigation remains ongoing to identify any additional participants in the violent incident and to gather comprehensive evidence for prosecution.
