A tragic incident unfolded in Dhawalapur village, located in Katol taluka of Nagpur district, where a 30-year-old man was brutally murdered on Friday night following a dispute over lime mixed with tobacco. The victim, Sandeep Dudhkawale, had approached his neighbor, Sahebrao Kohale, aged 58, requesting some lime, commonly used with tobacco. However, Sahebrao reacted angrily, refusing to provide it, stating that he neither consumes nor gives such substances. This led to a heated argument between the two.
Intervention and Escalation
Sandeep's father, Sudhakar Dudhkawale, intervened and managed to calm both parties, after which Sandeep returned to his home. However, the situation took a deadly turn when Sahebrao, accompanied by a minor boy, went to Sandeep's house a short while later. Sandeep was standing outside, and the confrontation reignited. The duo attacked Sandeep with sticks, inflicting severe injuries that proved fatal. Both assailants fled the scene immediately after the assault.
Police Action and Arrests
Local residents alerted the Katol police, who arrived promptly at the crime scene. A murder case was registered, and Sahebrao Kohale was arrested. The minor accomplice was also detained and is being dealt with according to legal procedures. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
