Nagpur Police Crack Down on Serial Offender, Uncover Multiple Crimes
In a significant breakthrough, the Rana Pratap Nagar police in Nagpur have arrested a 28-year-old man accused of flashing before women and engaging in indecent behavior. The investigation has led to the detection of 10 additional crimes across various police stations in the city, revealing a pattern of predatory activity spanning two years.
Pattern of Predatory Behavior Emerges
The accused, identified as Kartik alias Khomdev Patle, a resident of Jaitala, was allegedly active in west Nagpur, targeting women between 11 pm and 4 am. His modus operandi involved approaching victims during late-night hours, causing distress and shame through obscene gestures and indecent conduct.
One notable incident occurred on March 24 at around 1:20 am. A 25-year-old woman was returning home with a friend after attending a birthday party when an unidentified man on a black two-wheeler allegedly kicked her vehicle. He then chased her, made obscene gestures, and behaved indecently, leaving her traumatized.
Investigation and Arrest Details
Police launched a thorough investigation, utilizing technical analysis and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspect. Kartik Patle was subsequently chased and intercepted by authorities. During questioning, he confessed to harassing the woman and admitted his involvement in a total of 11 cases.
Further probe revealed his criminal activities across multiple police jurisdictions. The additional crimes detected include:
- Four cases within Pratap Nagar police station limits
- Two cases at Bajajnagar
- Two cases at Ambazari
- Two cases at MIDC
As part of the evidence collection, police seized two scooters used in the commission of these crimes. The investigation is ongoing to uncover any further details and ensure justice for all victims.
