The attack occurred after the child, identified as Om Vange, playfully sprayed colored water at the woman, Sindhu Thakre, who is reportedly a relative.

"The boy splashed colored water on her, and she reacted in anger. While not premeditated, the act was reckless and dangerous. There will be no leniency when it comes to endangering a child's life."

District Child Protection Officer Mustak Pathan, who personally inspected the incident site, emphasized the gravity of the situation.
