Nalanda District Officials Conduct Comprehensive Review of Security and Governance
A significant high-level meeting was convened in Biharsharif on Saturday evening, jointly chaired by Nalanda district magistrate Kundan Kumar and superintendent of police Bharat Soni. The session aimed to thoroughly assess and reinforce law and order as well as anti-corruption initiatives across the district.
Focus on Public Safety and Crime Prevention
The meeting involved a detailed evaluation of the overall security landscape, with a strong emphasis on bolstering public safety measures. Officials scrutinized pending criminal cases, conditions in sensitive areas, and emerging crime trends to enhance the effectiveness of ongoing interventions.
District magistrate Kundan Kumar issued directives to intensify field inspections and ensure the timely resolution of public grievances. He stressed the critical need for transparency in implementing government schemes, warning that any negligence or irregularities would result in strict disciplinary action.
Anti-Corruption Drives and Citizen Services
Sub-divisional officers were instructed to launch sustained enforcement campaigns through district task forces. These efforts will target key locations such as RTPS centres, the sadar hospital, registration offices, mining sites, and public distribution system outlets to identify and take action against touts and intermediaries.
The administration also prioritized improving basic amenities for citizens visiting government offices, including better seating arrangements, access to drinking water, and sanitation facilities. Additionally, mechanisms for swift grievance redressal were emphasized to enhance service delivery.

The meeting concluded with a unified call for improved inter-departmental coordination, robust intelligence gathering, and sustained vigilance. These steps are intended to fortify the law-and-order framework and reinforce public trust in the district's governance systems.
