The Gujarat government informed the High Court on Wednesday that a narco analysis test conducted on Jyotirdityasinh Jadeja, also known as Ganesh Gondal, the son of a sitting BJP MLA, has yielded results "not in favour of the prosecution." This development is part of the ongoing investigation into the mysterious death of 23-year-old civil service aspirant Rajkumar Jaat from Rajasthan, which occurred in March last year.
Details of the Court Submission and Completed Probe
Public Prosecutor Hardik Dave presented a report from a special police team to the court. The team, led by Surendranagar district Superintendent of Police Premsukh Delu, has concluded its investigation. The state disclosed that the narco test on Ganesh Gondal was performed on December 11, 2025, following necessary permission from a Rajkot court. A set of 31 questions was administered during the procedure.
The government's submission stated that the investigation covered technical aspects like Call Detail Records (CDR), the narco analysis, and witness statements across three interconnected cases. These include a missing person complaint filed by Jaat's family, a complaint at Gondal police station naming 11 individuals including Gondal, and an FIR related to the fatal accident.
Petitioner's Allegations and HC's Earlier Intervention
The court is hearing a petition filed by the deceased's father, Ratanlal Chaudhary Jaat, who suspects foul play in his son's death. The petition seeks a transfer of the investigation from the Kuvadava Road police station, where an FIR was registered on March 9, 2025 under sections for causing death by negligence and rash driving.
The petitioner's counsel raised serious concerns, arguing that the investigation has "missing links." He pointed out that Jaat's body was found 55 km from where he went missing on March 2 and bore 42 injury marks, including wounds suggestive of rods being inserted into private parts. The counsel contended these injuries were inconsistent with a bus accident. He also cited CCTV footage showing Jaat alone and, at times, without clothes.
Previously, on October 15, 2025, expressing dissatisfaction with the probe, the Gujarat High Court had transferred the case's investigation to Surendranagar SP Premsukh Delu. The court had directed a fresh investigation into the missing persons complaint, the Gondal police station complaint, and the Kuvadva Road FIR.
Next Steps and Pending Matters
Following the state's submission, the petitioner's counsel requested a copy of the investigation report. The Public Prosecutor informed the court that this report would be filed along with a chargesheet in the trial court, covering all three matters.
The Gujarat High Court has scheduled the next hearing in this closely watched case for January 15. The court's earlier order for a fresh investigation by a senior police officer remains in effect as the search for answers in Rajkumar Jaat's death continues.
