Nashik Family Dispute Turns Deadly as Younger Brother Allegedly Stabs Elder Sibling

A shocking incident of fratricide has rocked the city of Nashik, where a family argument escalated into a deadly assault. According to officials from the Adgaon police station, 33-year-old Sandeep Gaikwad was allegedly stabbed to death by his younger brother, Arvind Gaikwad (31), at their family home on Wednesday.

Police Register Murder Case Following Fatal Altercation

The police have formally registered a murder case against the accused, Arvind Gaikwad, following the tragic events. The confrontation reportedly began when Arvind initiated an argument with their mother around 2 PM at their residence. Sandeep intervened, urging his younger brother to remain calm and refrain from using inappropriate language toward their mother.

Despite this intervention, tensions continued to simmer. Police statements indicate that the disagreement soon shifted focus between the two brothers themselves, creating a volatile atmosphere within the household.

Argument Escalates into Deadly Knife Attack

As per the official complaint filed with authorities, the verbal dispute took a violent turn. The situation deteriorated rapidly, prompting Arvind to enter the kitchen and retrieve a knife. In a moment of extreme aggression, he allegedly used the weapon to stab his elder brother, Sandeep, twice in the abdominal area.

The brothers' mother, witnessing the horrifying attack, immediately raised an alarm and sought assistance from neighbors and others in the vicinity. Her quick actions were aimed at getting urgent medical help for her critically injured son.

Victim Declared Dead on Arrival at Medical Facility

Sandeep Gaikwad was rushed to the Adgaon Medical College for emergency treatment. Tragically, medical professionals at the facility examined him upon arrival and declared him deceased. The severity of the stab wounds proved fatal before he could receive life-saving intervention.

Following the incident, law enforcement officers swiftly took Arvind Gaikwad into custody. The judicial system has since remanded him to police custody, where he will remain until at least January 24 as the investigation progresses.

Background of the Two Brothers Involved

Police provided additional context about the two individuals at the center of this tragedy. Sandeep Gaikwad had successfully completed an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) course and was actively searching for employment opportunities at the time of his death.

Similarly, his younger brother Arvind had also pursued educational qualifications, having completed a diploma program. He too was in the process of seeking job opportunities. This shared circumstance of unemployment may have contributed to the underlying tensions within the family, though the exact motivations behind the violent outburst remain under police scrutiny.

The Adgaon police continue their investigation into the precise sequence of events and the factors that led to this devastating outcome within what should have been a supportive family environment.
