Nashik Police Implement Three-Month Traffic Diversion for Major Road Concrete Work

The Nashik city police have officially announced a comprehensive traffic diversion plan that will remain in effect for the next three months, extending until May 11. This significant measure is a direct response to the ongoing concrete road construction work on Trimbak Road, specifically targeting the stretch from the Khadkali signal to the ITI signal. The project aims to enhance the road infrastructure, but it necessitates temporary adjustments to ensure public safety and minimize disruptions.

Key Road Closures and Alternative Routes Detailed

Motorists are strictly prohibited from using the segment from the Khadkali signal to Annabhau Sathe Chowk. To facilitate smooth traffic flow, vehicles will be systematically diverted via Shalimar Circle, CBS (Central Bus Stand), or towards Sarda Circle. It is important to note that traffic from the Trimbak Naka signal to the Khadkali signal will continue to operate as usual, without any alterations.

In a related development, the road opposite the Borstal School, located on the sub-jail road between Civil Hospital and Sharanpur Road, has also been closed to all vehicular traffic. This closure is part of the same concrete road work initiative. Consequently, vehicles traveling from the Taluka police station to Civil Hospital must now take a diversion towards the Tilakwadi signal to proceed onto Rane Dairy Road. Conversely, those heading from Civil Hospital to the Nashik Taluka police station are required to use the Trimbak Naka-CBS route.

Phased Construction and Safety Protocols Enforced

The concrete work will cover an extensive stretch of over 4 kilometers, from Hotel Rajdoot to the ITI signal. A senior police officer confirmed that the construction will be executed in different phases to manage the impact. During the work, one side of the road will be completely shut down where concrete laying is active, while the opposite side will be utilized for two-way traffic, ensuring continued mobility albeit with reduced capacity.

The city police have issued strict instructions to the contractor overseeing the project to implement robust safety measures. These include completely barricading the construction zone and installing adequate signage with clear messages such as 'No Entry', 'Work In Progress', 'Diversion Route', and 'Go Slow'. Additionally, all boards must be equipped with proper reflectors to enhance visibility and alert motorists during nighttime hours.

To further ensure traffic management and safety, the contractor is mandated to deploy traffic wardens at critical points. These wardens will be stationed on both sides of the construction work, at diversion junctions, puncture points, and all no-entry locations. This proactive approach aims to guide drivers effectively and prevent accidents or congestion in the affected areas.

Residents and commuters in Nashik are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, considering these diversions and potential delays. The police emphasize that these temporary inconveniences are essential for the long-term improvement of the city's road network, promising a smoother and more durable travel experience once the project is completed in mid-May.
