Navi Mumbai Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Harassment of Minor Girl
In a disturbing incident in Navi Mumbai, a 26-year-old man has been apprehended by the APMC police for the alleged sexual harassment of a 9-year-old girl. The event unfolded on Monday evening in a chawl located in the Koprigaon area of Vashi node, sending shockwaves through the local community.

According to authorities, the accused has been identified as Hrushikesh Kadam, who works as housekeeping staff. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM when the young girl was playing alone near his residence. Kadam allegedly lured the child under the pretext of giving her cotton balls for play, then took her inside his house.
Once inside, he bolted the door from within and, in a horrifying act, removed his trousers and flashed at the minor. After this traumatic experience, the girl managed to return home and bravely recounted her ordeal to her mother.
Police Response and Legal Action
The girl's mother immediately confronted the accused, leading to a commotion that drew the attention of local residents. The community swiftly summoned the police, and an APMC police team arrived promptly at the scene. They escorted Kadam to the police station for further investigation.
Senior Inspector Ajay Shinde of APMC police provided crucial details about the case. He confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Kadam under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for sexual harassment. Additionally, sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act have been invoked, which mandate strict punishment for sexual assault and harassment of children.

The accused was produced before the Belapur special court, which handles Pocso Act cases, on Tuesday afternoon. Following the hearing, the court has remanded Kadam to police custody until Wednesday, March 18.
