Gorakhpur: General Manager of North Eastern Railway, Uday Borwankar, conducted a window trailing inspection of the Gorakhpur-Chhapra rail section on Wednesday. He was accompanied by principal heads of departments and senior officials from the headquarters and divisions. Later, he inspected the Chhapra Junction-Chhapra Gramin section along with Varanasi Divisional Railway Manager Ashish Jain, as stated by CPRO Sumit Singh of NER.
Review of Passenger Amenities and Infrastructure
During the inspection, Borwankar reviewed passenger amenities, cleanliness, and ongoing infrastructure works, including the goods shed platform project at Chhapra Gramin station. He also carried out a detailed inspection of Chhapra Junction station and the coaching depot.
Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
The General Manager discussed various construction and redevelopment works proposed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He directed officials to ensure their completion within the stipulated time frame while maintaining high quality standards, according to Chief PRO Sumit Kumar.
Detailed Inspection of Station Facilities
Borwankar inspected the station premises, platforms, circulating area, foot overbridges, second entry gate, parking facilities, passenger movement arrangements, security systems, and cleanliness measures. He also reviewed crowd management plans for summer and examination special trains, including holding areas and operational arrangements.
Food and Hygiene Standards
Inspecting food vending stalls at the station, he instructed officials to ensure that passengers are provided with hygienic and quality services.
Preparations for New Train Launches
The GM also reviewed preparations for the launch of two new trains — Chhapra-Anand Vihar Terminal and Mau-Anand Vihar Terminal — scheduled to be flagged off by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on June 19.
