Nephew Murders Uncle in Vaishali Village Over Insult
A shocking family dispute turned deadly in Vaishali district on Monday. A 50-year-old man lost his life after his nephew allegedly slit his throat during a violent attack.
Violent Attack in Bahuara Village
The incident occurred at Bahuara village under Baranti police station limits. Police identified the victim as Mehtab Lal, a mason by profession. Lal had been staying at home due to illness for the past five years.
According to family members, the assailant struck the victim repeatedly on the neck, hands, legs and other parts of the body. The brutal assault lasted for around half an hour, leading to death on the spot.
Nephew Confesses to Crime
Police arrested the accused nephew, Manjay Kumar, shortly after the incident. During interrogation, Kumar confessed to his crime. He provided a chilling reason for the attack.
The accused told police that he attacked his uncle because Lal used to call him 'mad'. This repeated insult apparently triggered the violent response.
Wife Injured While Trying to Intervene
The victim's wife, Shakuli Devi, also suffered injuries during the attack. She tried to intervene and stop the assault but was attacked herself. Authorities admitted her to hospital for treatment.
Police have completed their initial investigation and prepared necessary documentation. The accused will be produced in court on Tuesday. Following the court appearance, he will be sent to jail.
This tragic incident highlights how family disputes can escalate into violence. Local residents expressed shock over the brutality of the attack in their quiet village.
