On Tuesday, CRPF Inspector General Saket Kumar and Special Task Force (STF) Inspector General Anup Birthare visited Chaibasa in West Singhbhum to formulate detailed operational plans. The high-ranking officials chaired a crucial meeting with police and CRPF commanders who are directly leading ground operations against Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in the region.
"The point of discussion was related to the ongoing Naxal operation," stated Superintendent of Police Amit Renu, who declined to provide specific details about the confidential deliberations.

An official familiar with the discussions emphasized the urgency, stating: "With the March 2026 deadline set by the Union home minister, Amit Shah, to eliminate LWE from the country, there is a need to re-strategise our plan and speed up the attack to weed out extremists from the Saranda forest within a given time frame, and the meeting was in tune with that."
Targeting the Misir Besra Squad in Saranda Forest
Security forces have received specific intelligence indicating that the Misir Besra squad is actively operating within the Saranda forest, attempting to revive the armed rebels' foothold in the region. Misir Besra, a prominent Politburo member of the CPI (Maoist) and Eastern Regional Bureau secretary, has been a primary target of security agencies for an extended period.
