Noida Traffic Advisory for Ambedkar Death Anniversary: Diversions on Expressway
Noida Traffic Diversion for Ambedkar Anniversary on Dec 6

The Noida Traffic Police has issued a detailed advisory for commuters, announcing significant traffic diversions around the Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal this Saturday. The measures are being implemented in view of the death anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, which is expected to draw large crowds to the memorial site.

Key Traffic Restrictions and Diversion Plans

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pravin Ranjan Singh stated that on December 6, a complete ban will be enforced on the movement of all categories of goods carriers. This includes light, medium, and heavy vehicles on the Noida Expressway. These commercial vehicles will be redirected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway to manage congestion.

Authorities have prepared a contingency plan in case traffic pressure mounts on the main expressway. If needed, general traffic heading from Noida and Greater Noida towards Delhi will be diverted via Kalindi Kunj. The alternate route will also utilize internal sector roads, specifically passing through Sector 37, Sector 18, Sector 16, before proceeding to the Chilla Border.

In a specific directive, Delhi-bound traffic at the Bird Feeding Point will be channeled towards Sector 18. Furthermore, vehicles arriving from the Noida Elevated Road with the intent to visit the Dalit Prerna Sthal will be diverted left near the Car Market in Sector 28. Officials advise that commuters can then take a U-turn and travel under the metro line along Captain Vijayant Thapar Marg to reach Sector 15 and eventually the Chilla Border.

Political Gatherings and Expected Footfall

The traffic arrangements are in anticipation of a substantial gathering. Lakhmi Singh, the BSP Gautam Budh Nagar President, indicated that the party's national convenor, Akash Anand, is likely to attend the Noida event. Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati will be present at a program in Lucknow at the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal.

Singh expressed appreciation for the police arrangements, noting that thousands of people from Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Meerut are expected to visit the Dalit Prerna Sthal in Noida on the anniversary. Mayawati had earlier urged supporters in western Uttar Pradesh via a social media post to assemble at the Noida site to pay their respects to Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

Exemptions and Commuter Advisory

It is important to note that the restrictions will not apply to vehicles engaged in essential and emergency services. Ambulances and fire tenders will be permitted to operate during the restricted hours without hindrance.

The traffic police have urged daily commuters and those planning to visit the area to plan their journeys in advance, considering the announced diversions and potential delays. Using the suggested alternate routes is strongly recommended to ensure a smoother flow of traffic and to avoid unnecessary congestion around the memorial site on this significant day of observance.
