When confronted by the police, Ganesan attempted to flee from the scene, demonstrating a clear intent to evade capture. As he tried to escape, a police officer made a direct attempt to apprehend him physically.

In a violent response, Ganesan allegedly attacked the officer, posing an immediate threat to the law enforcement personnel on site. Following standard protocol, Inspector Bhoopathy Raj and his team initially issued a verbal warning, ordering Ganesan to stop and surrender.

Ganesan sustained severe gunshot injuries during the encounter. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in the Puzhal area for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
