Bhubaneswar: The Odisha assembly has lodged a police complaint against two government assistant executive engineers for allegedly fabricating a transfer order using a forged signature of the deputy speaker to secure postings of their choice.
Although the Capital police registered a case on June 11 against Monalisa Behera and Laxman Hembram, both assistant executive engineers (AEEs), the matter surfaced on Tuesday after summons were issued to the accused, who now face charges of cheating and forgery.
Behera and Hembram are originally posted in Bansapal and Harichandanpur blocks of Keonjhar district. According to the FIR filed by Niranjan Kumar Sha, private secretary to Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi, the duo forged Bhoi’s signature, misused his official pad, and fabricated documents in violation of service rules and the Information Technology Act.
