Panchkula Police Nab Prime Suspect and Juvenile in Brutal Dhakoli Murder Case
In a significant breakthrough, Panchkula police have apprehended the prime suspect and a juvenile in connection with the horrific murder of a Dhakoli resident who was fatally stabbed during a robbery attempt in Sector 12. The chilling incident occurred on the night of March 2/3, sending shockwaves through the community.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrests
Police officials confirmed that the prime suspect, identified as Roshan, was arrested within six hours of the crime being reported. A juvenile accomplice has also been taken into custody. This development comes after police had already arrested one suspect a day following the crime. However, critical evidence including the weapon used in the attack, blood-stained clothing, and the victim's stolen mobile phone remains unrecovered, according to official statements.
Details of the Tragic Incident
DCP (crime & traffic) Manpreet Singh Sudan provided detailed insights into the case. During routine patrolling, police received urgent information about an attack on a young man. The subsequent investigation revealed that the victim was 29-year-old Deepak, originally from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, who lived on rent in Dhakoli and worked at a call center in Chandigarh.
The tragic sequence of events unfolded around 2am when Deepak was returning home from work. He had stopped near Krishi Bhawan in Sector 12 to speak with a friend on his mobile phone. At this vulnerable moment, two assailants armed with knives launched a vicious attack, robbed him of his mobile phone, and fled the scene.
Medical Response and Police Investigation
The critically injured Deepak was rushed to Civil Hospital in Sector 6, where medical professionals declared him dead upon arrival. Following this tragic outcome, a murder case was officially registered at Sector 5 police station. Police authorities immediately formed multiple specialized teams to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Breakthrough in the Investigation
A dedicated team led by Dalip Singh, in-charge of the Crime Branch in Sector 26, achieved the crucial breakthrough by arresting the main accused Roshan. Roshan is a native of Gopalganj in Bihar who was currently residing in Dhakoli at the time of the crime. He was produced before the court on March 4 and remanded to police custody for three days to facilitate further interrogation.
Preliminary interrogation has revealed disturbing details about the circumstances surrounding the crime. Both suspects were reportedly under the influence of drugs at the time they committed the brutal attack, according to police statements.
Criminal History of the Prime Suspect
Police investigations have uncovered that Roshan has a troubling criminal background. He already has three previous robbery cases registered against him at both Sector 5 and Sector 14 police stations in Panchkula. This history of criminal activity adds context to the current serious charges he now faces.
The arrest of both the prime suspect and the juvenile represents a crucial step in the investigation, though police continue their search for the missing evidence that could further strengthen their case against the accused. The community remains shaken by this violent crime that occurred in what is typically considered a peaceful residential area.
