The anti-immigration fraud unit of the Panchkula police has achieved a remarkable feat by solving all 239 cases lodged last year, returning approximately Rs 2.40 crore to the complainants, according to officials.
Current Year Performance
This year, the unit received 54 complaints in the first five months, of which 46 have been resolved with the recovery of Rs 1.01 crore. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Srishti Gupta highlighted the significant success in recovering victims' money.
Recoveries and Seizures
Officials stated that last year, they received an average of 20 complaints every month, which has now come down to 11 complaints per month this year. The DSP added that valuables recovered from arrested accused in 2025 included about Rs 1.76 crore in cash and 850 grams of gold jewellery. Gupta noted that recoveries worth Rs 54.44 lakh have been made so far in 2026.
