The Patna High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to submit its reply regarding a plea filed for the quashing of an FIR against Faisal Khan, widely recognized as Khan Sir. The case pertains to an incident of alleged firing and violence near his coaching institute in a crowded locality of the state capital.
On June 4, an FIR was lodged against Khan Sir at Kadamkuan police station (Case No. 418/2026) in connection with the incident. The vacation bench of Justice Chandra Shekhar Jha, while hearing a criminal writ application filed by Khan Sir, instructed the state authorities to file their response on an affidavit within the next four weeks. The matter has been scheduled for further hearing on July 13.
Khan Sir's counsel, Abhishek Kumar, argued that the FIR was based on frivolous and baseless allegations, constituting an abuse of the legal process that cannot be permitted to continue in the interest of justice. The writ petition was strongly opposed by state counsel Prabhu Narayan Sharma.
