Tragic Family Dispute Turns Deadly in Patna Village
A shocking incident of family violence unfolded in Patna district on Thursday when a 50-year-old disabled man was brutally shot dead by his own nephew. The tragic event occurred in Lala Bhadasara village, falling under the jurisdiction of Dulhin Bazaar police station.
The victim, identified as Anil Sharma, was allegedly murdered by his 30-year-old nephew Priyadarshan Sharma around 12 noon inside their shared family home. According to police officials, the two had been engaged in a long-running family dispute that had been intensifying over recent times.
The Fatal Confrontation
What began as a minor argument quickly escalated into a violent confrontation that ended in tragedy. Police investigations reveal that Priyadarshan Sharma allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired three shots at his uncle during the heated exchange.
The victim sustained critical bullet injuries to his head, chest, and stomach, collapsing on the spot and dying immediately. The sound of gunshots alerted villagers who rushed to the scene and promptly informed local authorities about the horrific incident.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Dulhin Bazaar police station in charge, Sonu Kumar, quickly reached the crime scene and initiated evidence collection procedures. Three bullet shells were recovered from the spot, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
Speaking about the case, Kumar confirmed that the forensic team has been called to gather additional evidence from the crime scene. The body of the deceased was sent to AIIMS-Patna for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
In a significant development, police acted promptly and arrested the accused near a bus stand in Paliganj. During the arrest, authorities seized an unlicensed pistol believed to be the murder weapon along with two live cartridges from Priyadarshan's possession.
Ongoing Investigation
While preliminary investigation points to escalating family tension as the primary motive behind the killing, police officials confirmed that other angles are also being thoroughly examined. The Station House Officer emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and all aspects of the case are being probed.
