Patna police intensified their investigation into the June 2 violence and firing incident linked to Khan Global Studies on Sunday. A team from Kadamkuan police station, accompanied by security personnel, visited the coaching institute and pasted a notice summoning three staff members for questioning. The employees—Ankit Kumar Pandey, Ajit Kumar, and Kanhaiya Kumar Singh—were accused of failing to cooperate with the ongoing probe.
Notice Served for Non-Cooperation
The notices alleged that the three individuals had been repeatedly asked to join the investigation through verbal communication, written notices, and WhatsApp messages. Despite multiple summons, they reportedly did not appear before the investigating officers. Police directed them to record their statements in connection with the case.
Standard Investigative Procedure
Town DSP (Patna) Rajesh Ranjan clarified that the notices were part of standard investigative procedures and should not be viewed as an extraordinary step. He explained that police routinely summon individuals whose statements may help establish the sequence of events or provide relevant information. “Those summoned are required to appear for questioning, and if they fail to respond, additional notices may be served,” he said.
Ranjan added that investigators are recording statements from all persons present during the incident or those with knowledge of the events on June 2. He also noted that Khan’s statement had already been recorded as part of the investigation.
Background of the Case
The case stems from the June 2 incident where a group allegedly attacked the coaching institute, assaulted a security guard, pelted stones, and tore down posters and banners outside the premises. The violence led to multiple FIRs and a broader investigation by Patna Police.
