Petrol pump employee assaulted in Faridabad queue dispute

A petrol pump employee was allegedly assaulted by a group of men after he refused to refuel their motorcycle ahead of another customer in Faridabad’s Sehatpur area. The incident occurred around 8:30 pm on May 23 at a petrol pump under the Palla police station limits. CCTV footage of the assault has emerged, showing the employee being beaten by several individuals.

Details of the incident

According to a pump staffer, two youths arrived on a motorcycle while the employee was refuelling a car and allegedly demanded that their bike be attended to first. When the employee asked them to wait, an argument broke out. “They wanted their motorcycle to be refuelled first while the staffer was attending to another customer. After the argument, they left and later returned with several others,” a pump employee said. The group allegedly assaulted the employee, repeatedly punching and kicking him. The victim sustained injuries to his head and mouth.

Police response and investigation

Police reached the spot after receiving information and began examining CCTV footage from the petrol pump and nearby areas to identify the accused. “No formal complaint has been received from the petrol pump management so far. Appropriate action will be taken once a complaint is filed,” an officer said. Sources indicated that both parties later reached a compromise and no legal action was initiated.
